Current projection next season
Current projection next season
The non league projections google doc sheet is doing the rounds and it puts us in the NPL, it’s normally fairly accurate.

Re: Current projection next season
Northern league adds considerable mileage and is not good for recruiting players. If Daventry go down and Corby promoted we only have Harborough as local Derby. We need Alvechurch or Stratford and Hednesford in bottom four.
Re: Current projection next season
Lets ask for a double relegation to step 5 then. Keep it local and get first dibs on local playerssussexdiamond wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 10:16 am Northern league adds considerable mileage and is not good for recruiting players. I don’t think there’s much in it , apart from the 3 teams around Bedford all are miles away still in sd1.
Seen how spread out southern prem will be next !! With Boston Berkhamstead Telford

It’s an issue on player recruitment, we recruited for the southern league when we then got moved into the NPL we had to make changes to that player recruitment to adapt to that league and the geographical locations of players.

Agreed - the footprint in the North is similar to what we have now, but without the trips east, and the likes of Rugby or Melton aren't too far. The south might mean trips to the likes of Thame or Didcot, as well as all those London suburb ones we had before - plus the likes of Hadley(near Barnet) and Hertford. At least there's no trip to Market Drayton or Witton in the Northern division any more.diamondsteve wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 7:57 am I don’t think there’s much in it , apart from the 3 teams around Bedford all are miles away still in sd1.

Re: Current projection next season
Would rather travel around Leicester and Birmingham than Oxford and inside m25 . Are we saying it’s easier for Nunn to get players from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire?Formic wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 9:10 amAgreed - the footprint in the North is similar to what we have now, but without the trips east, and the likes of Rugby or Melton aren't too far. I believe that a more southern league would be more suited to his contacts etcdiamondsteve wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 10:31 amWould rather travel around Leicester and Birmingham than Oxford and inside m25 . Re: Current projection next season
I think if you are drawing in players from towards london that’s where the souther league will be more beneficial whereas being more midlands based your pool is a lot smaller, along with 2 local clubs fighting and maybe being able to pay more for that same pool of players.

Real Bedford are paying Step 5 money now. When they are in Step 5 they will be financial challengers
