Leslie and ford to add to that then. Although i think ford should kerp his place in the starting line-up, hasn't put a foot wrong.

We will end up with egg on our face if we lose plus losing much needed revenue, strongest XI possible, this is the FA Cup remember!!

Deffo, maybe the odd forced change (fairlamb, gyasi due to injury) or Dillon back in, but no changes just to give players a game. We've had some great runs in the facup, long may it continue

I'm sure that Andy realises just how important this fixture and further progression in the Competition is vital to the Club. The media exposure that a good cup run gives will certainly boost future attendances at Hayden Road, the financial revenue from shared gate(s) and the FA Prize Fund are vital to us. The other factor, that should not be overlooked, is that Alfie, Wizz and Aynslie will surely be giving 100% to put one over us.

No official word on injuries to Fairlamb and Gyasi since the game on Tuesday. If neither are fit for Saturday then I will be slightly concerned.

With the exception of those that are carrying knocks i'd fully expect us to field the strongest team possible.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Curly wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2017 5:27 pm I really don't think that we should take this game lightly at all, if all the lads are fit I'd start the team that started on Tuesday,if there are any niggles then you could rest a player but it's a risk not worth taking Imo.

The cup is massively important to us this season both financially and if we can progress far increased interest in the town would be more than welcome
BBC are televising every round. So we may yet feature. This Saturday it is two northern teams , just who eludes me at present. But we could be an attractive fixture for them to show in the coming weeks..........if we progress.
Featuring in the Non-League Paper again on Sunday :clapping:

Yep, if I were manager of a NL club, I'd treat every FA Cup game like a cup final tbh, it provides too good an opportunity, both in terms of financial and exposure, to not treat it as seriously as possible really, that's why I love it supporting Diamonds and hate it when we go out.

If we did need a reminder of the potential banana skin, it came when step 6 Potton United knocked out AFC Dunstable from our league tonight.

Indeed, although I don't feel Dunstable's cause was helped by their striker, BJ Christie, receiving a red card after 25 minutes.

Extract from a report on NLM:-

"AFCD seemed to argue about anything and everything and maybe they need to look at themselves as they lost their way completely once they were reduced to ten men. For Potton, another scalp and beating a team two levels above them is no mean feat and they thoroughly deserved to be one of the first teams in the hat for the next round."
