I think most Diamonds supporters would agree with Gresleyman about Shaw Lane. But as we are playing both of them in the next 2 games we will see how right he is.
Lincoln have certainly been on a roll since playing us in the Trophy.

Error on NPL results Spalding WON 3-0 now correctedsussexdiamond wrote:Wow listening on Radio Diamonds was pretty nerve wracking squeaky bum time. But a 2-1 win. great stuff.
Shame we don't quite make it into top 5. But Newcastle and Spalding lost and Chasetown drew.
Lincoln continue to show good form so next week will be another tough game

Not everyone who gets approached signs for us...BartonRaz wrote:A thoroughly entertaining game helped by a passionate opposition crowd which makes a nice change. I thought Fazel had a good game and took his goal excellently - we've been lacking that sort of composure in front of goal for quite some time now. Sam Brown did a great job of keeping Pearson Mwanyongo quiet too when required and Nabil was as good as ever.
I know I said this after the first game against Gresley but what a shame we didn't pick up one or two of those ex-Thurnby attacking players. Mwanyongo especially. Having someone like that in our side would turn games like Market Drayton and Basford into victories. Alas, he didn't play for Cogenhoe or K*ttering so was never likely to be on our radar.

Re: [ Sat 3rd Dec ] v Gresley FC, KO 3pm NPL1S AWAY
After the disappointment of last Saturday that was a great way to respond. We really do like playing away from home don’t we! As expected Gresley possessed a very pacey attacking threat but I felt we dealt with them well throughout. Admittedly it was a real ‘backs to the wall’ job in the second half particularly near the end but we showed real steel and determination to keep them out. I felt at times that Gresley were almost trying to walk the ball into the net but we kept our shape very well.
Both sides had chances to score more particularly them, although we were a bit lucky with the shot that came off the post. The league table makes good reading with so many games in hand on the other teams. The two upcoming matches away to Shaw Lane and Chasetown are huge and will certainly be the acid test. Let’s hope for a good Christmas period!
It will be interesting to see which players are fielded against Corby on Tuesday. Maybe give some of the new lads a chance to bed in.
