Doesn't always mean he can do it at any level. Didn't Tommy Berwick score 50 in a season before he joined Us?BartonRaz wrote:How about Ben Mackey? I stand by the comment considering the lad had scored 17 goals already a couple of weeks ago for Bedford and Kempston. Surely he could be tempted?

That was with Daventry at Step 5 to be fair and that was a good few years before he joined us. Mackey scored 43 at Step 3 two years ago.TheIncognitoKid wrote:Doesn't always mean he can do it at any level. Make that 18, I went to watch the local derby last night, Bedford V Kempston, 1-0 Rovers Danny tap in from 3 yards. Played out in front of a bustling enthralled crowd of 169 except an old mate of mine who I bumped into just after half time as he was leaving, it was bloody awful, Drew Phillips back at Bedford for the 3rd/4th time after starting season at St Ives then having a spell at Dunstable, Phil Draycott watching as left Bedford, not sure if JT knows his best 11 yet as Bedford have got through about 30 players this season including 6 keepers.TwinkleToesTomlin wrote:TwinkleToesTomlin wrote:Id take Watson at Diamonds

On the player front TTT like many supporters it's probable many players still associate us with the old Club and big pockets, they convert the £130 a week they get at a Club watched by 150 people into, Diamonds are watched by 450 so they can afford to pay me £200 + a game, the may be a few out there who would love to play for us but have burnt bridges with daft wage demands, to others the thought of playing in front of you may be to scary to contemplate & they are happier in front of 50 pensioners and 2 spaniels. Either way I'm sure Peaksy is constantly on the look out and trying to improve our squad but from what I saw last night the isn't much of interest in the Bedford area, even Ash Fuller had a stinker.
