Former Players

Post by Noddy »

Having updated the Diamonds A to Z regularly in the past, I expect not many bother looking at the old Official Website any more. Although movements / loans / transfers are also posted via Twitter (@OfficialRDFC), I thought that I would start a thread to update them on here as well. Moves over the past 10 days are:

George Artemi (Nov 2009 – 1 appearance)
(Southend United) joins Bishop's Stortford

Ryan Charles (Aug 2010 to Apr 2011 – 44 appearances, 11 goals)
(Cambridge Utd) joins Newport County on loan till the end of the season

Mark Cooper (Jan 1998 to Apr 2000 - 56 appearances, 12 goals)
(Unattached) joins K*ttering Town as caretaker manager

Joe Day (Sep 2008 to Apr 2011, 41 appearances)
(Peterborough Utd) loan at Alfreton Town extended till end of the season

Marcus Kelly (Mar 2004 to Apr 2009 – 192 appearances, 16 goals)
(Mansfield Town loan) returns to K*ttering Town after proposed transfer cancelled

Matt Pattison (Aug 2009 to May 2010 – 31 appearances, 2 goals)
(Walton & Hersham) joins Kingstonian

Conal Platt (Mar 2008 to Apr 2008 – 10 appearances)
(Cambridge Utd) joins Lincoln City

Simon Wormull (Mar 2000 to Sep 2001 – 33 appearances, 3 goals)
(Lewes U18’s manager) becomes caretaker manager at Lewes

Mark Wright (Mar 2007 to Apr 2007, 4 appearances)
(Thurrock/I'm a Celebrity) joins St.Neots Town

I'll wager his next appearance will be on Celebrity Come Dine With Me.

I often look at the Twitter page to see where players have gone.

Out of interest, how do you find some of them out? It's always intrigued me. Some of the really low level stuff.

As for Mark Wright - supposedly available for selection on Saturday.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Left back Rene Steer suspended so he is more than likely to slot in there.

I find it totally amazing that a player as poor as Conal Platt can get another position with a Conference Premier club. He must have a good agent!

Rene Steer has certainly gone down in the world since he appeared for Arsenal at Nene Park

Of the 17 Arsenal players that played that day 3½ years ago, he seems to have fallen the furthest:
Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal); Adu Ogogo (Dagenham & Redbridge); Rene Steer (St.Neots Town); James Dunne (Exeter City); Kyle Bartley (Arsenal – on loan to Rangers); Paul Rodgers (Newport County); Sanchez Watt (Arsenal – on loan to Sheff Wed); Kieran Gibbs (Arsenal); Rui Fonte (Espanyol); Nacer Barazite (Austria Wien); Jay Thomas (Ipswich Town); Emmanuel Frimpong (Arsenal – on loan to Wolves); James Shea (Arsenal); Luke Ayling (Yeovil Town); Thomas Cruise (Scunthorpe United); Rhys Murphy (Arsenal); Craig Eastmond (Arsenal).

Same, I don't watch TOWIE, but I'm not sure how this passed me by, I had no idea he was even a footballer! :?
