Re: [ Sat 17th Nov ] v Bedworth Utd, KO 3pm ECSP HOME

Was Jack Westbrook yellow carded amongst the first half flurry of cards? If so that takes him to five. That will at least allow Rogers back into the starting X1. He was booked in the incident where the ref truly lost the plot, and was initially intent on booking Tom Lorraine who was yards from the ...

Re: [ Sat 17th Nov ] v Bedworth Utd, KO 3pm ECSP HOME

The highlight of the game for me was the through-ball from Declan Rogers that resulted in the penalty award. Perfectly weighted and I think he (alongside Reynolds) were the only two in the ground that saw that pass. I know he was absent last weekend (and under Peaksy's management that's always mean...

Re: [ Tue 20th Nov ] v Banbury Utd, KO 7:45pm ESCP AWAY

A win could take us to the ridiculously giddy heights of third place!!! :ermm: :fool: :good: but at least fifth place We certainly didn't see that coming. So let's enjoy it whilst we can. This match is the start of four consecutive away matches and possibly five if Stratford win their Trophy match ne...

Re: Our back four

The point I am making about our back four is that it is the most balanced we have ever had. No weak links now. That is no criticism of last seasons back five. And yes Westbrooks best position is as you say in front of the back four.

Re: Our back four

When Ashton was out with injury earlier this season I was not happy with Westbrook filling that role and regularly advocated a six foot plus player there. But Jacko more than makes up for his lack of height with his reading of the game in the same way that Dolman makes up for his perceived (by some)...

Our back four

When Ashton, Brown and Dolman have been in our back four we have always been solid and much of our success has been built on these three. Now after several seasons we have the right back position solved with Reynolds clearly the best we have ever had in that position. Added to that we also have an e...

Re: [ Tue 13th Nov ] v Hitchin Town, KO 7:45pm ESCP HOME

Got to say that was a game of two halves. Thought we were great in the first half, kept the ball on the deck, played some lovely stuff through the middle, plenty of movement through the front 3 and a great goal from Ben. Second half we gave the ball away in the middle far too much, and I was massiv...

Talk about make it difficult for yourselves! Coasting after an hour then holding on at the end! Still, 1 point off the play-offs with 2 of the bottom 3 to come. Really happy with where we are at this new level. Shame about the cups but let's have a real go in the Hillier Cup. Would be a great night...

Re: [ Sat 10th Nov ] v Witton Albion, KO 3pm FAT2RQ AWAY

weaker squad or they coming up against better opposition? The squad is different, not necessarily weaker. Losing Fairlamb and Gyasi altered the way we were set up last season. Other than that very little has changed. We do miss a Robbins type player but they are hard to find. When Dan Holman became...
