HT 1-1. Cordon for us with a great strike on approx. 37 mins. We then conceded 2 minutes later. Snelus, of all people.

Listened to the first half on radio Diamonds where it sounded like we actually played well, but I'm sorry Joseph, when they equalised almost instantly after, I just couldn't listen anymore, it's so predictable. I'm sure we'll have the usual comments saying we played well and were unlucky, but it's just not good enough to play well and lose every week. They always say a good team always finds a way to win even when they play badly, feels like we're the opposite I'm sad to say.

When we have the proper board numbers in place after Wednesday, please, for the love of god get rid of Maxwell immediately, I'm all for developing youth players of course, but this is taking the piss at the expense of the success of the senior team. I'm under no illusions that even the best manager in the world would have a hard time keeping the current squad in league, but we need to at least try and find someone else with step 2-4 managerial experience, someone to come in and play ugly, but results winning football.

A tough one to take in what I felt was a must win game in the context of our season.

We were much the better side in the first half. Great goal from Cordon but we also had gilt-edged chances from Kanga and Connor that were missed. The latter had what was by some distance his best game for the club however really should have scored. The equaliser a couple of minutes after going ahead is just typical at the moment.

The second half started in similar fashion with us in the ascendancy however the longer it went on we just lost control of it totally. Not sure if it was fitness or the confidence draining out of a remarkably young side, but by around the 70 minute mark we were clinging on against what in my opinion was a really poor Hitchin side. Thereafter we struggled to create anything meaningful or for the most part, get out of our half.

Snelus getting both goals - who to be polite never showed an ounce of ability in a Diamonds shirt - was the icing on the cake.

On the plus, no goals conceded in the first ten minutes of either half

If RM does get relieved of his duties whenever that may be, unfortunately, unless we could come to some sort of compromise with the loan clubs, it would mean we’d lose those players unless the new manager has a UEFA B qualification.
