Re: Hillier Cup
Very much a scratch side put out by Brackley, they always seem to treat this competition with contempt.

These local FA competitions are a load of rubbish, when teams have fixture backlogs they are threatened with fines if they don't full fill these daft matches which are attended by about 70 people, then it's finished with a final in a stadium which holds about 10 times the amount of people that attend it.
In my opinion local FA's should be scrapped, they do nothing that the FA isn't capable of doing, they are a hindrance.
No disrespect intended to any of our former players if they have jobs at Northants FA, I'm talking about the organisation as a whole, not the employees who are just doing their jobs.

- Man gets one good result via a new manager bounce and thinks he's Pep Guardiola.

Re: Hillier Cup
Even though these competitions do seem a bit of a hindrance, they are a good way to bring in some fringe or youth players to first team action. Was certainly a good idea to play the first round during pre season, but in not sure if these competitions would be missed if taken awayAdrian wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:06 pmGood on them, sussexdiamond wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 7:12 am Very much a scratch side put out by Brackley, they always seem to treat this competition with contempt.

Re: Hillier Cup
Somewhat surprised at this. As the first round was played in pre-season, my understanding was that anybody could play including trialists etc. Also, why has it only been decided now? Have Cogenhoe made a challenge albeit on what grounds?
