[ HISTORY - Bar Memorabilia 1 ]

On the right is a picture of the old Nene Park (R&D v Bromsgrove Rovers, FA Cup 93/94), of what became the Airwair End, before the Airwair Stand was built.
What was that end known as then?
We have put this picture in the corner of the bar, near the main exit to the ground/Burger Bar, next to a window overlooking the left hand end of the ground.
Why put it there?
Well the same structure that is in the right hand picture with the R&DFC lettering on it, is the one currently painted green (from Rushden Rangers days) behind the goal as a ball catcher still. Apparently as the old Hayden Road ground had some badly rusted posts here for their own ball catcher that they had to take down, R&D gave this structure (or part of it) to Rushden Rangers, as they no longer needed it. Some modifications had to be made onsite, but it is the same basic structure. [Info from Mark Panter - Groundsman MDPGroundcare].
If anyone knows more details or any corrections, then feel free to comment here to add to the information about this picture and a little bit of history.
p.s. If the person who threw the toilet roll on the 1993/94 picture is here, then let yourself be known.
