We all know that ground grading was indefinitely suspended in 2012 for all clubs whose name is not AFC Rushden & Diamonds, as evidenced by the hoops we have to jump through each season, and the appalling state of several other grounds at our level, and those immediately adjacent.

No, it’s not bollocks. There is an extra league being added at Step 3 and an extra league being added at Step 4 from the 18/19 season onwards (next season). Given our location we’ll be nailed on to compete in one of these new divisions next season. I’d imagine that spreadsheet will be a fairly accurate reflection of reality - it usually is.

Did I read somewhere there is plans to create a new league at step 2 after the changes to steps 3 & 4?

I would not think that very likely as the FA want a pyramid 1-2-4-8-16

I doubt if that is the case.
Good thing if they did as we would be back to the situation we had before the National League North and South were formed, which many think was a bad move.
