was it kevin brock we signed with a bad back and he never played. this is years ago so i may well be wrong.

I always rated Braniff. He was certainly better than all the other strikers we had at that particular time. His goals won us games against Grimsby and Cheltenham i think.

Bevin Krock you mean? :lol: Only played in an Andy LLoyd testimonial match at Bedford Town.

Gary Mulligan was a similar period I think, and I rated him as well.

I think that both Braniff and Mulligan, for all their effort and pedigree, fell into the 'couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo' category and were in a team that was quickly on the slide after relegation from League 1 under Tippett/Hunter. Another more recent striker who fell into this category was Lee Phillips.

I didn't really like Braniff but I liked Mulligan, who worked very hard, it was just unfortunate that we were shit and couldn't create sufficient chances for them.
