Did our best to throw the game away when Dunks & Clarke came off, prior to that we'd been very impressive and totally in control of the game. We looked so much more solid today with Clarke & Ashton at the back, the latter had a very assured debut.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Should have been much more comfortable win than the score line suggests and if it hadn't of been for a great save by Finlay at the end, we would only have come away with a point. Difference was told by having Dunks back in the side always causing problems for the defence. Good to see Clarke back and hopefully wasn't too badly injured and an excellent debut from Jack Ashton at back who was rightly awarded MOM

Much better performance - should have been more convincing and gutted to give away a goal, but 3 points! Mission accomplished !!
5 more wins then we'll see how things stand !!
Not looking too great for 2nd spot at the moment with Huntingdon winning today, 2 points behind with 3 games in hand, but they have to play Spalding twice and cogenhoe !! All we can do is keep winning now and keep the pressure on them - it's Spaldings title, but 2nd spot is now the prize !!
Onwards to next Saturday !!

It was fantastic to see Clarke and Dunks back, you can always see how opposition players struggle against them with their strength and heading ability and we've certainly missed them. Really good performance in the first half I thought and the scoreline could have been more than 2-0, but second half, like quite often in recent months we seemed to lose our control on the game and nearly complacently threw away what seemed to be a comfortable position at 2-0, so thank goodness we held out for a deserved win.
And I thought we certainly saw the poorer side of Wisbech today, they're the only other team to have taken any points off Spalding, made the Vase quarters and of course could have been promoted from this level last season, but seem to have been horribly inconsistent all this season and looked no better than any other mid-table UCL side.

I think they had at least two players missing suspended.

In picture 22 its looks like Gearings penalty has crossed the line although I don't think there was much appeal from the fans behind the goal

I was right behind the goal and it was a good 8" or so away from crossing the line, we called for it (as ya do) but in truth it was well away from going over, it just didn't have the legs !!TheIncognitoKid wrote:In picture 22 its looks like Gearings penalty has crossed the line although I don't think there was much appeal from the fans behind the goal

You can only play what's in front of you eh? I thought we looked good value for the win and hopefully we'll take confidence from the win and performance !!SouthRushdenJFC wrote:I think they had at least two players missing suspended.
