I am sadden by this

Mark has done a terrific job from the U18's to last seasons promotion and this year, In the FA Cup which we may not go that far for another couple of seasons.

Yes I questioned some of his decisions but I have done with all previous RDFC managers including JE because that's football!! I think he was very passionate about AFCRD which he showed in all his interviews and he wanted to succeed which I think he did but maybe this level of football is a bit different in terms of man management which we have all found out

I wish him the best and think he will get another job easy

Lets hope he doesn't become the new WTFC manager

From the vctory in the NSYL KO Cup in our first ever season as a phoenix club, to the magical memories and thrilling ride of last season, and finally, to the unforgettable FA Cup and FA Vase runs that we've also experienced.... Thank you Mark.

Not just for him being the first manager on our long jounrey (hopefully) back to the promised land, but the memories that he helped to create for me personally, such as him sprinting down the touchline against Eynesbury after Brownie's goal last season, and doing the same for Alfie's winner against Cambridge this season.

His passion and committment to the club's cause was undoubted, and you could tell how much the club meant to him after a defeat, or an important win, and how he would react. Whatever his reasons are for leaving the club are obviously his own, and I respect that, although it still comes as a major shock.

So, for the last three brilliant years...

Thank you Starms

I'm absolutely shocked by this news and never saw that one coming. Went home from the match last evening slightly dispirited thinking that our squad lacked the certain type of no frills 'UCL type' player that certain other teams possess and which have caused us problems in matches where we have struggled. I guess that whoever take on the first team manager's role will address this issue.

Nevertheless, we owe a huge deal of gratitude for all the hard work and commitment that Mark has put in over the last three seasons whilst in charge of the playing side of our fledgling club.

Thanks Mark.

I'm sure Mark had his own reasons, and I'd like to thank him for a tremendous three years. I hope the next position he gets suits him; with his track record he could easily be managing in the Football League. Looking forward to seeing who gets appointed next, they'll have a hell of an act to follow.

Might even be worth giving David Moyes a call! :P

Hope he comes back to see us every now and then, and that he is happy with whatever life throws at him next.

Thank you, Mister Starmer, and adieu.

As with others, never saw this coming a total curve ball. Sorry to see him go as he has done Fantastic work for Rushden & Diamonds FC and AFC over the years.

After time and reflection maybe we could persuade him back again with the Youth Teams at some point.

Well best of Luck Starms

Possibly was under some pressure if only that imposed by himself due to his desire to succeed, was it starting to affect him IMO yes especially over the last couple of months to me he wasn't the same Starms I've known for many years. So in that respect possibly best for him to have a break & recharge the batteries, is any part time job worthy of an adverse affect on you personally? I don't think so. Thanks for everything Mark during the Clubs formative years, as without you there someone may not have attended those trials & him & me could both have missed out on the last 2 seasons, as has been stated some may have questioned the odd management decision but what is unquestioned is your ability as a coach which hopefully will not be lost to the Club forever.

Couple of extra points - Peaks also agreed to take on the U18s. Does he still run one of the academy teams as well (U16's?). If so, one wonders what changes will have to be made on these fronts.

Also, pending a Formician alteration:

Mark Starmer's record (as first team manager) - P89, W62, D12, L15

A pretty impressive record!

Sorry to see Starms go, but we must respect his decision, and thank him for the last three years in helping to establish the club we have today. We have some great memories to look back on, so thanks Mark, and best of luck in whatever you decide to do. Do n`t be a stranger. :)

I agree with all that has been said, not much to add really. I know he looks on here so will see all these messages.

Good luck for the future Starms, in the long term this could prove to be a good decision both for you personally and the club, I guess we'll see in time!! Certainly surprised me though!!

Onwards with Peaksy at the wheel, we know him to be a passionate fella and he loves this club, so lets all throw our support behind him for the remaining games.

So us and the doughboys with caretaker managers for the weekend !!
