Best/Worst football moments for you in 2009

Post by AFCRD_Dan »

Obviously the best moment of 2009 footballing wise for me has to be when we beat K*ttering in April, never felt so proud to be R&D fan as I did that day, closely followed by GH's resignation.

Worst moment would be watching most of the performances under GH, thankgod for Justin!

So what about everyone else?

Best was the few minutes immediately after we scored against K*ttering :D The electric atmosphere in the PDB, the sudden silence of the scum's 'Barmy Army' ( ) and seeing the lads' reaction at the final whistle... amazing!

The worst footballing moment of 2009 for me was easily Ireland 'losing' to France. It probably sounds stupid but I it took the best part of the month to get the anger and self-pity out of my system. It still hurts, to be honest. :( Roll on 2012 ;)

Best moment for me was Tomlin's goal at Luton.

To win a game in that manner when we weren't expected too was fantastic.

Worst was by far and away Evesham, although the realisation during the rest of the week that Hill had not walked is up there! How he walked off after the final whistle, i honestly thought he would resign or be sacked, so much so we were talking about successors on the way home!

Best moment - JE appointed as manager :)

Worst moment - Cousins junior retained (shades of Danny Talbot  )

Best = Barrow, Salisbury, Luton Away. K*ttering at home.

Worst = Ebbsfleet, Forest Green, Northwich Away, all last season.

Think we should do a best/worst of the decade as well, as it's certainly not been a dull 10 years for RDFC.

But for 2009, the best has got to be Smith's goal against K*ttrin, Weymouth or the relief when GH finally left the club.

Worst has to be Salisbury at home this season (so disappointing after all the pre season hype) or either one of the two Forest Green away games, both embarrassing results tbh.
