Suggestion - Diamond Day

Post by fentiger79 »

With hopefully a bit of positive changing coming could we look at holding a Diamond Day on Saturday 29th October for the match v Tamworth.
£5 entry, use social media to push it over the next 3 weeks
Invite ex players for free
Get local radio and newspapers to support
Open and friendly welcome to supporters and ex committee members who have fallen out or not been for a while.
Push the membership
Reduced Diamond Burger price (I know this would be requiring an agreement with provider but more people equals more custom)
Tamworth obviously have a diamonds connection
Club shop open and on display
Raffle to win a season ticket
Fixture list given to everyone who comes through the gate.
Get the youngsters involved (on the pitch for a kick about)
Vouchers for some free beer to the singers (club would pay the cost)
Let’s have a positive occasion and support the team

Great idea (other than holding it on a cup game - the reason this is a problem is the opposition would need to agree to any price reduction, whereas in a league game it's just the league who need to give approval, which they do not withhold unnecessarily).

I volunteer to help with one of the initiatives.

While we have you Dave, any chance you could look into the rumours regarding the matter of long term volunteers (all round good folk) being pushed out of the club?
I know of one business owner who does a sponsorship every year who is considering stopping it from next season because he feels his friend has been pushed out.
