[ Sat 27th Jan ] v Moneyfields FC, KO 3pm ESE AWAY
Re: [ Sat 27th Jan ] v Moneyfields FC, KO 3pm ESE AWAY
I guess the emphasis regarding the imminent inspection given the forecast will not be is the pitch playable but will it still be playable at 3.00 after more rain. It’s a bit of a finger in the air job but it will rain between now and kick off so hopefully they will guess correctly. Aylesbury was mildly annoying but to get 20 miles from the south coast and then get the call would be different.

So the game is ON.
R & H game against Bugbrooke is off so that’s good news for us as it will save the Hayden Road pitch from an unnecessary hammering before next Saturday’s important match against AFC Dunstable.

listened to the second half, pitch sounded hard going and moneyfields were fouling plenty.
i did laugh when the commentator said they have two physios.

Nice to get one over them after the cheating tactics they employed at Hayden Road.

That was quite a performance, with every Diamonds player putting in maximum effort,
The ingredients were there for the sort of blip we've seen during January in previous seasons. yet we always looked like being victorious once we got the early goal,
Moneyfields still employed the same shameful tactics - accentuate any challenge to make it look like a serious foul - the Moneyfields trainer again worked overtime, with only an accidental clash when Jacko went for a header resulting in anything tangible - needless to say they reacted in such a way that Jacko was booked. I think these tactics were a cover for some of their own awful challenges, and the ref did take some action, but quite how the Moneyfields player escaped unpunished for a cynical challenge on Luke Fairlamb after the half-time whistle I don't know. Perhaps the sight of the Moneyfields #4 shaking the refs hand before the action restarted after the interval showed he approved of at least one decision the ref made.
The ref must get credit for allowing the game to go ahead, and I suspect most refs would have struggled to cope with the writhing and haranguing he faced.

Great win after a short lay off. Moaningfields weren't that good at HR so I'm not surprised we beat them.

Excellent result on what sounded like another heavy pitch against a mid-table side on an awful run of form. Harder opponents to come in the next few weeks.
