The way the weather is looking for next week I don't hold much hope for Thame game and if we get a quick thaw even Barton game could be in doubt with waterlogged pitch.

I can't see us playing again until the 13th or maybe even 17th March.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

As this fixture is going to fall foul to the weather, the only free dates I can see at the moment ( which are tyesdays) 20th March, 10th April, 17th April, 24th April. Still 4 possible dates but Tuesday at home to Thame must be in doubt and what other fixtures to the likes of Hayes have remaining. Takes us back to the argument of playing two games in a week earlier in the season in cases scenarios like thus happen.

Totally agree. I’ve maintained for a long time that there are lost opportunities on not playing a few more fixtures midweek during September and October, better pitch conditions and more favourable temperatures for spectator viewing.TheIncognitoKid wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 11:22 am Takes us back to the argument of playing two games in a week earlier in the season in cases scenarios like thus happen.
Every year there is a fixture back log for many teams at our level.

I believe the last midweek fixture that was scheduled when the fixtures came out was at the end of November (Cambridge City). I also believe that by 7th December our remaining fixtures were only 3pm Saturday / Holiday fixtures - i.e. there were no rearranged or midweek league games to play. Surely we wouldn't want to drag those fixtures forwards to leave free Saturdays in March / April where some clubs could play rearranged fixtures (but obviously they wouldn't fit neatly on any "spare" Saturday).

Having the odd Saturday spare in the initial fixture list in March and April wouldn’t hurt. Would be interesting doing an analysis of how many matches we played in March and April, season by season, since we reformed.
Tomorrow’s match now confirmed as OFF. I make that the 7th weather related postponement since the 9th December including tomorrow’s fixture. I shall be surprised if Tuesday night’s fixture survives.

We could re schedule the Hayes match for March 20th as we both have a free evening at present.

As an aside I see that 1874 Northwich have 29 matches to complete before the end of the season following their 21st postponement!
