really sorry to hear this sad news. fans of my club know exactly how shocked and stunned you feel as we felt the same after Matt Gadsby passed away. my heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends, and to the players, officials and fans of Rushden & Diamonds as all will be affected by this loss.

i know it will not feel like it now, but in the days to come, these messages of support will be a huge comfort to his family, and all those who knew him, who struggle to come to terms with his loss.

RIP Dale.

Just got back from Eastwood saw this on the way back and was shocked. i would echo everyone else in saying how much of a Diamonds legend he was as well as a genuinly nice person. he had a great relationship with us all as fans and will be missed by all

Rename the south/north stand in his honour and retire the shirt

R.I.P. Dale Roberts.

Absolutely shocked upon hearing this, it's really tragic - the feeling can't sufficiently be put into words. My thoughts go out to Dale's friends and family, really can't imagine how they are feeling right now.

I would like to echo the call for the number 1 shirt to be retired.

I think all football fans, including many Harriers fans who had always admired and coveted Dale, are saddened by this terrible loss of a fine man.

Our thoughts are with Dale and out of respect there should be a minutes silence at all games this weekend, including ours against K*ttering.

I am sure they will swallow their pride and forget any animosity and be silent.

RIP Dale Roberts

Agree completely with renaming the south or north stands in his honour, excellent idea, would be a fitting tribute to him.
