Friendly match organised against St Neots for Saturday on an artificial pitch.

Sounds like a great idea for both sides to get a bit of match practice, and for them to gain a little extra money from bar sales etc. Anyone going to go down?

Might do,haven't seen them play in nearly two weeks and it's not too far at all although it will be bloody freezing, so will think about it.

STEVE Lomas has resigned as manager of St Neots Town following the departure of chairman John Delaney, plunging the club's future into uncertainty.

Delaney resigned yesterday afternoon (Thursday), claiming his position had become untenable, and manager Lomas followed shortly after finding out the news. A host of other senior figures at the club, including director of football Mel Hancock, have also left with immediate effect.

Delaney said: "I have resigned from the club as I did not feel I could feel I could continue working at the club any longer.

"People were questioning my integrity, an accusation that was totally unfair, and I felt my position had become untenable.

"I am gutted to leave, as I put my all into the club over many years. I want the club to succeed in the future, and I wish them all the best."

Lomas confirmed to The Hunts Post he had resigned following the news that Delaney was leaving the club.

He added: "I feel I have a loyalty to John - he brought me to the club, and I feel obligated to him. We worked hard together to take the club forward, and I feel we have done that.

"It was a tough decision because I have enjoyed my time at the club, but I did not feel I could stay.

"There are some great people still at the club, and I really hope that the club can continue moving forward. I wish them all the best in the future.
