I don't think it's fair to say there was no fight on the pitch. The effort was there from most of the team, but we're just desperately lacking in quality.

Re: [ Sat 28th Jan ] v Stratford Town, KO 3pm SLPDC HOME

This constant hammering of "the old board" is starting to wind me up now. No one is disputing that some poor decisions were made, and certain situations could have been handled better, but many on that board dedicated over a decade of their lives to helping the club get to a position where...

Re: Gary Setchell.

If we appoint Setchell I will cancel my lottery money and not make any further financial support. I take it that is based on the news story. Well Bedford had no qualms on appointing him so my disappointment would will be on less of a morality basis and more on recent events. I could not see how his...

Re: [ Sat 3rd Dec ] v Alvechurch, KO 12:30pm SLPDC HOME

One suggestion I have (for a future game, aside from a “Diamond Day”) is could we link in with the free paper (Rushden Reporter or something like that) and see if it’s possible to have a front and back page special covering us on a future game with match report. Centre spread and loads of info and ...

Re: Gary Setchell.

Setch has a Steve Evans look about him these days, very similar hair styles. Just a shame Gary doesn't have that menacing side that Steve has otherwise he would probably get a different tune out of the squad we currently have. I'd rather have Burgess and Maxwell back as joint managers, assisted by ...

Re: Gary Setchell.

Bedford Town were heading towards us and are one of our targets to catch up so why would we want to appoint him as our manager as he with a fairly good budget was struggling at level 3 unless we want him for level 4 of course. Anyway why is it that fans want an ex player for our manager, its about ...

Re: [ Mon 21st Nov ] v Hitchin Town, KO 7:45pm SLPDC AWAY

I would disagree with Dave regarding the decision to give Peaksy the job after Starms had stepped down - for me at least, it was a very difficult decision as we had some excellent applicants who'd been very successful at Step 5, one who'd managed in the EFL, a former EPL player and more than one ex...

Re: [ Mon 21st Nov ] v Hitchin Town, KO 7:45pm SLPDC AWAY

Certainly a lack of football knowledge from the 4 directors who selected Maxwell!! To be honest the Boards track record on manager appointments has been bloody abysmal from day one. Gave Starms the job on sentiment because he did well with Under 18’s the previous season, Marks experience was in you...
