Re: [ Sat 21st Apr ] v Cambridge City, KO 3pm ESE AWAY

For us to officially achieve promotion on Saturday we would need to beat Cambridge City and hope Hartley Wintney fail to win against Fleet this evening and fail to win on Saturday against Ashford. If Hartley were to pick up 3 points out of 6 (basically if they were to lose one of those games) and we...

Re: [ Tue 17th Apr ] v AFC Dunstable, KO 7:45pm ESE HOME

Are there any remaining games for Beaconsfield that look like banana skins? If I've done my maths right they need to lose and draw once, and for us to win every game, to go up as champions. Yes they have got to face both Hayes & Yeading and Dunstable in their remaining 5 games. Both games are at ho...

Re: [ Tue 17th Apr ] v AFC Dunstable, KO 7:45pm ESE HOME

I don't think you can understate the importance of that victory last night. We had to win at least one of the games against Dunstable and Cambridge, so to get that win under our belts at the first hurdle takes some of the pressure off on Saturday. So often we fail to deliver in these big games and i...

This is an enormous game, the biggest in our recent history. Win and we take a huge step towards promotion. Lose and we've got to go to Cambridge and win.

No pressure, lads.

Re: [ Sat 14th Apr ] v Aylesbury Utd, KO 3pm ESE HOME

That first half was the absolute pits. Or the first 35 minutes at least. Once Ryan scored the panic that seemed to have overwhelmed the whole team noticeably lifted and we started to play a bit of football. SWD’s finish was sublime albeit he forced himself into a really tight angle. Ryan Robbins pro...

Re: [ Tue 10th Apr ] v Bedford Town, KO 7:45pm ESE HOME

I touched on the poor quality of crossing in my previous post. Our wide players are always trying to hit the far post and crosses in the second half were either sailing over for goal kicks, claimed by the keeper or defended by their ‘man mountain’ centre half Steve Gentle (ex St Ives) and they need...

Re: [ Tue 10th Apr ] v Bedford Town, KO 7:45pm ESE HOME

I don’t have a problem with that tonight. We played infinitely better than we have done in any of the previous games in this run and looked more like our old selves. Bedford were the form team in the league and we have dominated the game from start to finish. Only slight problem is we have a set of ...

I had hoped that the late pitch inspection was an indicator that it had a chance. This is great news!

Re: [ Tue 10th Apr ] v Bedford Town, KO 7:45pm ESE HOME

This will be an extremely tough game. Bedford are in an excellent run of form and have ex-pro Paul Benson banging in goals for them these days. A serious improvement required if we’re to take any points on Tuesday.

Re: [ Sat 7th Apr ] v Northwood FC, KO 3pm ESE AWAY

I was there and it was abysmal. So deflated after Beaconsfield which seemed such a big improvement from Hartley. Why it took our management so long to make an attacking substitution against such an abject outfit is beyond me. Players looked demotivated clueless and out of ideas. Robbins attitude wh...
